This collection of photos was taken during a "Sailing 101" yacht racing event on September 9, 2008. Photographers Mike Reed and Tom Heaton shot photos and video of this event while riding on the committee boat with Bill Durant. The Sailing 101 program allows sailing enthusiasts in Southern California to race a fleet of ten Catalina 37 yachts with assistance from experienced yacht racers. The program is run by the Long Beach Sailing Foundation in conjunction with the Long Beach Yacht Club.
